Driving onto the grounds of The Country Club has a unique feeling; if the U.S Open has a feel, this must be it. This place is the most impressive golf property I have seen since my time in the golf industry. It’s actually hard to put it in words; I am just overwhelmed by the majesty of this place. I don’t want to leave, ever.
On-site for the Callaway Performance Team, we have Tour head Tim Reed, Tour Manager Jacob Davidson, and Performance Reps. Kellen Watson and Dean Teykl, builders Greg Shaw and Simon Wood, Odysseys Joe Toulon and Eric Stubben and me:). We also have two representatives from our European team, Peter Harrison and Ian Garbutt, making the trip over the pond.
Monday at TCC was a busy one for me. This AM, I walked with Xander and Min Woo Lee to tour the front nine and grab some of the pictures you will see in the gallery. Xander looks extremely sharp, especially with the driver and wedges, which will serve him well around TCC. Min Woo is also rounding into form as he continues to adjust to playing a larger schedule on U.S Soil. The great golf is in there; at this point, it’s just getting used to the grind of the PGA Tour.
The afternoon was nine more with defending champion Jon Rahm and last week’s RBC champion. Needless to say, the gallery size was immense. Rahm looks like he normally does, like a “major ready” machine just waiting to rip a golf course apart. No surprise there.
In regards to any big equipment news, there isn’t much. The truth is this course doesn’t require anything unique. Most of our staff is picking up a fresh 60-degree wedge and getting their lofts and lies checked.
If you’re searching for new equipment this week, good luck.
I’ll let the gallery do the rest of the talking:)

Would be great if you could dive into Kiz’s specs on irons. That is just awesome and crazy at the sametime, love it.
