Our week at Craig Ranch was a wet one. The weather cut Monday and most of Tuesday short so there wasn’t a ton going on in prep for the PGA at Kiawah.
Nonetheless there was a few juicy nuggets that I found interesting:)
Sebastian Cappelan had a new Apex Pro hybrid built up as a backup to his current gamer. Sebastian is one of the VERY few (maybe only) players that carry a low lofted Hybrid (16@15.1) as a 3 wood. The last player I recall doing this was Anthony Kim in 2008.
Valspar champion Sam Burns was back this week and had a brand new set of Raw Apex TCB’s built up. The new Raw backups are equipped with Project X 6.5 shafts and Lamkin Caroline Midsize Full chord grips.
Talor Gooch had a wicked Epic Speed 💎💎💎 3-wood built up to test.
New staffer Tyler McCumber likes his custom grind Raw Apex MB’s so much that he is having a backup set made up. Callaway Tour Truck Rep Simon Wood who does all the grinding on our truck is the man working thru them The new irons are shafted up with True Temper Dynamic Gold AMT Tour White X100’s.
Jamie Lovemark had a new Epic Speed 💎💎💎LS (10.5@10) built up to test against his current Mavrik Std gamer.
Wesley Bryan came in and grabbed a fresh Jaws MD5 Raw 58/C@59 with a True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400. The cool thing about Wedge-ly’s stick is it has one-off full-face grooves. Pretty cool stuff, the guy is a wizard around the greens.
Next week we are at the PGA Championship (Kiawah Island). Should be an awesome week and plenty happening on the truck. Here is the schedule for WOW going forward:
PGA Championship (Kiawah Island)
Sr. PGA Championship (Southern Hills)
Memorial (Muirfield Village)
KFT BMW Charity Pro-AM (Thornblade Club & The Cliffs Valley)
