It’s weird to think we are already here—the Playoffs and at one of my favorite stops on TOUR, TPC Southwind. The place is as pure as it gets and the southern hospitality has VERY few rivals.
This week we have 9 #teamcallaway staffers in the field. Rahm, Xander, Burns, Emi Grillo, Si Woo, Kirk, Hadwin, Thomas Detry, and Adam Svensson. On-site for our performance team we had Tour Manager Joe Toulon, Kellen Watson, Johnny Thompson, Dean Teykl, Simon Wood, and Odysseys Cody Hale.
For myself, it was a busy week indeed not only grabbing pics for y’all but also shooting a spot for the Golf Channel that should go up today as well as collecting some fun Social assets for the big channel.
I can almost guarantee you a Callaway victory this week as literally the whole staff is on form, its going to a great week. Enjoy the gallery.
Chris Kirk will most likely put the Apex CB in the bag this week in Memphis becoming staffer #3 to put the clubs in play on the US TOUR joining Si Woo Kim (Apex CB) and Emi Grillo (Apex Pro 3-iron). He has been testing them at home and loves the launch he is getting out of these compared to his Apex MB ‘18. The optimal stock peak height for him with a 7-iron is right around 105 ft (6700-7000 RPM) and he likes that he can just hit it there without having to think about it. He will also add an Apex Pro 4-iron to the set replacing his Apex Pro 21’ which is a trend I think we will see a lot of.
Sam Burns will put this custom Jail Bird in play this week in Memphis. The new wand has a bit less loft than his longtime gamer (2 vs. 3). Sam tested it all week and if he starts to see some putts fall with the way he’s hitting it, this could be an incredible week.
Specs:
35” eog / 2* / 71* / E7.1 / 558.6g
Jon Rahm has some new Anthony Taranto specials in the bag this week as well as a “proto” wedge that I can’t talk about yet but it’s absolutely MINT.
Playoff season baby!!!!
He’s not here this week but Min Woo Lee is at home testing the new irons:)
Xander is testing an Apex UW 23 to replace his 21 which oddly enough was going a bit too far and closing too much of a gap of his TD HL 3-wood. We shall see if the experiment sticks as the weeks go on. The 21 will be in play this week in Memphis. Both sticks are set up roughly the same way with the 23 lasering in at around 21.5 loft and the 21 just under 20.
