It was first seen in raw form shortly after we announced the signing of Jon Rahm. Ever since its been a hot point of curiosity to every gear head from Carlsbad to Toronto.
So if Callaway already has an X-Forged UT, why this?
The answer to that question is actually a lot simpler than you would imagine. The X-Forged Tour UT was created to accommodate our TCB players. You see, on Tour, we have multiple players in TCB as well as X-Forged CB, and believe it or not they are a totally different profile of player.
X-Forged players like a little more offset, longer blade length heel to toe while out TCB players prefer less offset, thinner top lines, less bounce, and a shorter blade. At Callaway we try to have something to fit any bag on Tour, may frustrate the gear heads but our staff loves it lol.
The new X-Forged UT Tour is currently in the bags of Jon Rahm (22), Phil Mickelson (19, 25), Dylan Frittelli (22), and a few others. We also have multiple players testing as we speak.
The X-Forged Tour UT comes in 16, 19, 22, 25
16 and 19 have negative bounce while the 22 and 25 come with minimal bounce. The reasoning there is turf interaction and ensuring the club gets into the turf for a proper launch.
