2022 Charles Schwab Challenge Photo Gallery (Tuesday)

You can feel the spirit of Mr. Hogan the minute you walk through the front door. As I strolled into Colonial CC at 6:15 AM, I found myself staring right into the Hogan Trophy room, all by myself, one of the gear head dreams I’ve always wanted to experience. It was everything I imagined it would be.

The golf course is spectacular; it’s an old-school layout that commands you to step up and hit one good golf shot after another. The only thing I’d rather be doing than my job today was to tee it up. I could spend YEARS playing this track.

On the big truck this week, we have Tour Manager Jacob Davidson, Performance Reps Dean Teykl and Kellen Watson, Builder Greg Shaw, and Odysseys Joe Toulon and Eric Stubben.

Weather was chaotic today so it was a bit slow on the truck but there was a few little nuggets to share AND the Mr. Hogan stuff is always fun:)

Some random treats in this gallery, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

The Hogan Room:

On the Range, Mr. Hogans old clubs:

There is a coat hangar “reminder rib” set at 2 o’clock….think about that for a second…you think the guy hated the left side?
This is insane…
Now thats a 3-iron….

Fast forward to Modern Day:

Sam Burns was looking for a Colonial Specific Tee Option this week and tested this X21💎 UT 22
Interesting gapping story here. Sam’s Caddy Travis Perkins felt that at Colonial CC, they needed an option that sat right between his TCB 4-iron (220-225 carry) and Apex UW 21 (250-260 carry), which brought too many runouts and bunkers into play. The new UT, which had similar launch characteristics to the UW, flew 235 in the air, giving Sam the freedom to take full rips on some of the tight holes and take a lot of the trouble out of play. It’s TBD if it makes it in. This is Chess, not Checkers.
Kevin Na put the new Rogue ST 💎💎💎 in play a couple of weeks ago and according to him, the stability has been noticeable, especially when he really wants to step on one. (8.5@7.8, Flat Cog, 3GF, 7GB)
GD Tour AD GP 6TX (45.5 inches, D2.25, Tipped 1) This is a perfect example of a player not changing too many variables. Kevin has been committed to this shaft for multiple years and prefers to make the head match the shaft (and ball) and not start from scratch to achieve the perfect numbers.
