Rogue ST Fairway Woods: Fastest Ever?

In my opinion, Callaway fairway woods have been solid top to bottom for as long as I can remember. From the legendary S2H2 to the Warbird and one of my personal favorites, the Steelhead.

I have always had at least one Callaway fairway in the bag throughout my playing days. WHY? they were LONG, super forgiving, and effortless to get up in the air. What more could you ask?

I have always had at least one Callaway fairway in the bag throughout my playing days. WHY? they were LONG, super forgiving, and effortless to get up in the air. What more could you ask?

Now we come to the new Rogue ST fairway woods that have quite the R&D buzz all summer long.

Early testing via Tour and R&D showed that, on average, Rogue ST was up to 10 yards longer in the air than with Epic Speed/Max. 10 yards. Keep in mind that our Epic Speed fairway woods were LONG…but 10 yards? Is that real?

It is.

I’ll explain what we did and what it means for you.

INTRODUCING THE ROGUE ST FAIRWAY WOODS with Batwing Technology

The Tech:

A.I.-designed Jailbreak ST with Batwing Technology: Two Jailbreak batwings are pushed out to the perimeter, stabilizing the hitting area resulting in crazy speed and stability. It’s a new way of looking at a solid retaining wall.

A.I Designed Flash Face: The face of the new Rogue ST fairway woods has been fine-tuned (for each face and loft) even further to enhance speed and forgiveness on mis-hits giving the player the ability to trust that even on an off-center strike, the ball will maintain its line and integrity downrange. At high speeds, it’s essential that the ball holds a tight line with the right spin, and this face elevates that even further. Imagine having a club that can think on the fly……

Tungsten Speed Cartridge: This will be the first time we incorporate this technology into a fairway wood with up to 28G of Tungsten placed forward and low to enhance speed, launch, and mitigate spin. Think high, low spin, bombs.

The LineUp

ROGUE ST MAX (3, 3HL, 5, HVN, 7, 9, 11)

WHAT: FAST, FORGIVING, HIGH LAUNCH. A straight down the middle distance fairway wood that offers plenty of juice out of the middle but players will find an improved gear outta the heel and toe. This is in part to the new Batwing tech and Tungsten Speed cartridge.

WHO: Widest range of players from a few on TOUR to a 25 handicap.

ROGUE ST MAX D (3, 5, 7)

WHAT: Offers everything that the ROGUE ST MAX Offers but in a draw-biased (CG more towards the heel) package. Not only is it a soft draw machine, but better players will respond to the square address position and shallow profile.

WHO: Players looking to limit a right miss or need a bit more help hitting it right to left.

*interesting thing I discovered on this one. My numbers with D were right in the pocket with the others; IF I only wanted to hit soft majestic draws….this would be the one. No doubt.

ROGUE ST LS (3+, 3, 3HL, 5) AKA “The Monster”

WHAT: A deeper-faced, low spin, higher launching players fairway designed to satisfy the best players in the world. This will be the most played Fairway wood on the PGA TOUR and, in testing, has proven to be one of or the longest fairway woods we have ever designed. I tested one over the summer, and it was 15 yards longer in the air than my Epic Speed 💎💎💎 gamer. 15 yards!!!! Look for players to go up in loft in the 3-wood (IE 3HL) to dial in gapping.

WHO: TOUR Professionals, low handicap players, and some mid to higher handicappers looking to knock spin down.

The Takeaway:

We have developed a fairway wood that not only goes a country mile, but with the introduction of Batwing Technology to stabilize the face, this monster is fast and knows where it’s going. It doesn’t often happen in this day and age, but in this case, it’s true, the ROGUE ST fairway woods are LONG. REALLY Long.

In my opinion, the Rogue ST will be the talk of the fitting bays in 2022. You can’t argue against pure distance gains, especially when they are flying down the middle of the fairway.

FOR Me:

In my testing in the video and afterward, I discovered that each of these heads could work well in my bag. Yes, even the Max D. My numbers with each were all in a similar window with the only separator being spin. Now it has to be said that the LS was the longest of the bunch for me……by far, but I don’t really need 15 yards more out of my 3-wood. I want a reliable, consistent flight and some variety. With the unique CG packages on these woods, along with the nuanced nature of the flash face, I cannot wait to REALLY dig in and see what the new 255 club will be for me. As I sit right now, I have no clue.
