2021/2022 PGA Tour Season is underway and #teamcallaway is at The Summit Club in Las Vegas, Nevada for the CJ Cup. The field is packed and based on what I saw during the practice rounds, this is going to be a birdie extravaganza. Look out for someone or a few people to go insanely low this week.
Apex UW was the hot item on the truck with multiple players either testing on site or getting them built up to test in the off-weeks. The feedback has exceeded our already high expectations and I believe this club will a hot ticket item well into next year leading up to Augusta. It’s that good.
On-site we had Tour Manager Jacob Davidson, Dean Tekyl, Kellen Watson, Greg Shaw, and Odysseys Joe Toulon.
Take a look at what happened on the Callaway Tour Truck this week and enjoy the photos!!
Emi Grillo was doing some shaft testing with Kellen Watson and Dean TekylThis is what he was testing the new PX HZURDUS Smoke RDX Hulk and the below RDX Red…He was POUNDING THESE THINGS. Just put this one in my driver:) Apex UW Mania
Three main reasons Apex UW is getting so much attention:
NO HOT SPOTS, it maintains a tight spin window up and down the face.
Very neutral CG with a fade-biased look. Players like that it’s easy to move around IE Fade, Draw
Turf interaction, you can get this thing in the ground like an iron, and the face contact is optimal. Most TOUR players hit down on everything but a driver so having a club in that 18-21 region that they know can get thru the turf is a bonus. One of the aspects of fairway woods is the more you hit down the more of the top of the face you present. For some players that equals that low spin knuckle heater or for players trying to keep it down, it could mean TOO much spin. Apex UW doesnt do that.
Joe Toulon is the busiest rep on TOUR. No Joke. Mav McNealy is making his first putter model switch since college!! He switching into this Toulon Las Vegas S. Working with Joe Toulon, Mav was looking for a new look all while keeping that shallow profile he likes from his previous gamer. Mav has been working and practicing with this Vegas for a while and it’s finally getting its day in court. Sometimes the gamer needs a timeout. K. Na was busy this week, here is the #chefticket for his new Apex UW’s he will be testing in the next few weeks.
Kevin Kisner switched back into the MCA MMT 125TX Iron shafts, after working on GEARS he flattened the lie angles of his irons and these shafts complemented that switch perfectly
Mav McNealy’s Apex MB and Apex MB Protos
This shaft is getting a TON of looks going into the Apex UW, the PX HZURDUS Smoke RDX Black 80TX (Low launch/Low Spin)Mav also put a 💎💎💎T 5-wood in the bag. He specs it out as a 4-wood, (15.8 loft, 42 9/16 length, D4)Fujikura Ventus Black 7XThis kids got the whole Golf world right in front of him, its going to be a wild ride. #samburnsHave a great y’all!!! We will be back on TOUR at the Houston Open. #teamCallaway

I love this website, thank you! Looking at Na’s specs, why are the 19 and 21 tipped the same? Doesn’t the 21 require additional tipping? Thanks
