We are on the Eve of what I think will be an EPIC U.S Open week….See what I did there? I spent the day at ECPC with our Tour team consisting of “Big Chief” Tim Reed, Jacob Davidson, Dean Tekyl, Kellen Watson and Simon Wood. ALL HANDS ON DECK!!
Lots of players in testing and fine tuning for the Thunder Dome that is Torrey Pines SOUTH.
Akshay Bhatia was in doing some Driver and 3-wood work with Jacob Davidson. Nothing really to fix rather ensuring his sticks were optimized across the board….and they were.
When players come in to fine-tune, it’s rarely distance they are looking for, spin management across the face is usually the aim. I’m always fascinated by the tight spin windows a club has to achieve to make it in the bag. Akshay is still swinging the Epic Max LS (PX Hulk 60TX) and Epic Speed 💎💎💎 3-wood (PX Hulk 70TX) and the young left-hander had his Coach Chase Duncan (@ownyourgolfgame) and Caddy Jonas Hillyard with him to make sure the game is DIALED.
Marcus Armitage AKA “The Bullet” stopped by Sunday morning to get some new Epic Speed 💎💎💎 Fairway Woods built up. The 3-wood is at 15 degrees with an MCA Diamana TB 70TX and 5-wood at 18 degrees with TB 80TX. This guy might be one of the most beautiful souls I have ever met. The new fairways will match up nicely with his Epic Speed (retail) Driver.
Matt Wallace (who is one of my favorite guys to chat up) was in with his agent “The Legend” Chubby Chandler and Caddy Gareth Lord.
Matt was also testing an Epic Speed 💎💎💎 3-wood (firstname.lastname@example.org) with a Fujikura Ventus Blue 7X.
Check out the video of him discussing his thoughts on the new weapon.
Illinois Teammates Dylan Meyer and Thomas Detry also found their way in to do some practicing at the Test Center.
Dylan had a new Epic Speed 💎💎💎T 3-wood built up with an “old school” MCA Diamana S+ 70X. Check out the picture of his current Rogue Gamer, sweet spot much?
It’s going to be an amazing week, we have 30 #teamcallaway staffers in the field, and it’s Phil’s Birthday Week…..can you imagine if he won? Grand Slam, home game, breaks his own “oldest player to win a major” record, it’s his birthday…..and Fathers day?
My God, the world might go flat after all.
