WILD. This is week is simply WILD. More than half a million people will make it through the gates of TPC Scottsdale and with the Super Bowl ALSO being held in Phoenix this week, it goes without saying that AZ has the eyes of the world on it all week. I typically bounce out of events around lunch on Wednesdays, but this week I’m gonna hangout an extra day to camp out on #16 and take in the insanity. I mean a par-3 with 60,000 + socially lubricated humans surrounding it sounds like a good time to me. My pick for this week is Rahm, he still has that look in his eye, and it’s a home game for him. Paradym has taken four of the first five events, so it’s not crazy to think that the train will just keep rolling. Best field of the year, $20 Million purse, a HUGE stage and it’s Super Bowl week…I have a hunch the Big Unit will rise to the occasion…again.

Jon Rahm did some 3-wood modifications this week. His Paradym 💎💎💎T HL was going too far. At times he was getting close to 180 ball speed out of it and when he turns it over the overall distance sat way too close to his driver. In that case, the first thing Performance Rep Kellen Watson will do is create some spin. If you look at the build sheets, #1 (Left) has the same GD DI 8x Rahm plays in his 5-wood. That profile spins a bit more than the Aldila Tour Green JR has had in for over a decade and sheet #2 (Right) has the same Aldila but its tipped .5 less than Rahm’s normal spec. Both instances could achieve the extra 300-400 RPMs of spin he was looking for.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout is still looking for the perfect gapping club between his 3-wood and 4-iron. This Apex UW is VERY close…the carry number is right around 216, and the goal is 220. I imagine an Apex UW 21 is in the works. Bez plays this UW right around 40.5 inches, D3, with the Kai’li 90TX Tipped at 1.5Like it was close to a decade ago, Odyssey Versa is flying out the door. I haven’t told Cody Hale this, but odds are this will be missing on Wednesday afternoon…Sorry, not sorry. Leadtape Chronicles would be proud…These are for a non-staffer to test…Both are equipped with the Accra TZ5… this shaft has a cult following amongst gear geeks. Low launch and low spin with an incredible feel.
